Jose Vaz was born on March 3rd, 1999, in Praia, Cape Verde. He is known professionally as Itsjosevazofficial, a dance artist and choreographer specializing in afrobeat.
Jose began his professional dance career in 2018, dancing on the streets of his country. His friends, who were also dancers, helped him start by teaching him and collaborating to make videos. They shared their work with the world, inspiring many.
“For me, dancing is the best way to be out of yourself—larger, more beautiful, more powerful,” Jose shares. “This is power, it is glory on earth, and it is yours for the taking. That’s why I do it. I want to inspire the world, teach as many people as I can, and help them feel the freedom and joy that dance brings while forgetting life’s problems.”
Jose’s biggest goal is to open a dance school where people can learn various styles with skilled teachers. He also aims to grow his social media platforms to share more dance videos and inspire people worldwide.
