This is a report of potential unethical business activity by matthew-hughes.com at the website https://www.matthew-hughes.com/. The following incident report was created anonymously by submission on our site.
On October 31, 2022 I made a purchase for a pair of shoes at https://www.matthew-hughes.com/. The website directed me to a page where I gave my credit card information but when I submitted that information the site redirected me to PayPal where I made the final purchase. I received and invoice from PayPal from an unfamiliar recipient with Chinese letters 立延 祐子. Now when I return to the https://www.matthew-hughes.com/ website I get no confirmation of receipt of payment but only payment pending. Under their contact page there is a message center where one could presumably enter a message but that only comes back as “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.” I have tried this several times over the past 4 days and continue to get the same error message. I am now left with disputing the charge with PayPal and my banking institution.
