My name is Vai Haridas, and I am the founder of Ethnik Edge. As a woman of color from India who now calls the USA home, I’ve embraced both my heritage and my adopted country. After an accomplished 18-year career in Technology, I decided to pursue a long-held dream of entrepreneurship, inspired by the legacy of my beloved grandmother. I wanted to honor her by creating something handmade in America, using exclusively U.S.-sourced materials. Candles have always been my passion.
Drawing on childhood memories of India, I began crafting candles that evoke a deep sense of nostalgia. Ethnik Edge is more than just a business; it’s a mission that blends entrepreneurship with family values, social responsibility, and a strong commitment to sustainability. I launched Ethnik Edge with my children, aiming to instill in them the principles of entrepreneurship while spending meaningful time together. This journey has led to the creation of our exquisite 100% soy-based candles, which have already captured many hearts.
We introduced our inaugural line of signature fragrances on January 22, 2024—exactly one year after my grandmother’s passing. Each scent, including Gulab, Mogra, Champa, Gili Mitti, and Khus, pays tribute to her garden and our cherished memories.
