Peruvian-American entrepreneur, investor, and author Pedro David Espinoza dedicates his life to uplifting underserved communities and encouraging others to do the same. Today, we celebrate Pedro David Espinoza for winning the 2025 Stellar Business Award for Purpose-Driven Entrepreneurship Champion. Our selection committee reviewed several public figures for this award and has decided that Espinoza exemplifies the qualities we look for in the winner of this award.
As founder of Pan Peru USA, Espinoza continues to improve the lives of thousands, not only in Peru but around the world. As a renowned tech investor, he provides material support to numerous meaningful initiatives worldwide, including Melzi Surgical, Ever Medical Technologies, the Institute for International Medicine, and Praava Health, among others. He also provides guidance to several organizations as a member of their boards of directors.
Meanwhile, Espinoza has been a tireless advocate for purpose-driven entrepreneurship. He has delivered keynote addresses for major organizations such as Meta, Google, Microsoft, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the World Intellectual Property Organization, among others. His relationship-centered approach to entrepreneurship inspires others around the globe.

Espinoza’s journey to becoming a champion of purpose-driven entrepreneurship began when he was a teenager in Lima, Peru. His mother, the founder of Pan Peru, challenged him to spend a week in a village high in the mountains and help build a library. There, he discovered a community full of kids just like him who didn’t have access to basic necessities like running water. These children couldn’t even imagine leading lives different from those of their parents and grandparents.
The library changed that, as well as Pan Peru’s other infrastructure projects. When Espinoza visited again years later, the village’s children had much larger plans for their futures, including one girl who wanted to become an engineer to help connect her community to the rest of the world.
Espinoza has dedicated himself to making a difference in people’s lives ever since, choosing projects that make the world a better place and advocating on behalf of socially responsible, purpose-driven entrepreneurship. He has founded Pan Peru USA to expand his mother’s initial vision and created an app, SmileyGo, to promote corporate giving to worthy charities. For these reasons, he has been dubbed the “Robin Hood of Tech.”
